Focus On Your Clients
While you may not be able to see your clients in person, this doesn’t mean consultations can’t still occur via FaceTime, Skype or another web-based platform. Offer your clients the opportunity to book an online consultation followed by an appointment for the future. Offer this web-based consultation service with the purchase of a gift card.
Put together a home regimen/facial protocol and ship or drop off an accompanying retail package. This home treatment could consist of products intended to prep the skin or hair for a more advanced service performed by you one month from now.
Share a “product of the week” on your social media platform and offer retail promotions. Product sales can still occur and be shipped directly to your clients’ home.
For any cancellations, immediately reschedule for a future appointment within the next 2-3 weeks. Once the situation settles down, you will be extremely busy so its best to plan ahead.
Help your clients get through this time, using your expertise. Show off your expertise! Through Social Media channels: How To Can Maintain Great Hair at Home, How To Keep Your Hair Color At Home, How to Keep Your Hair Color Strong At Home.
Offer a Mother's Day special. If you have a way to collect payments online from your clients, having a promotion that they can purchase today and redeem in the future can potentially generate positive cash flow.
Book + Pay for a Service Now & You Can Donate Part of the proceeds to First Responders. Clients will appreciate your giving back to the people on the front lines. Example - clients purchase a $100 gift card and you will donate $25 to local first responders and/or others on the front lines of fighting the Coronavirus.
Focus on Your Business
Ask your clients to leave you a review. Your clients love your work and will want to support you during this time.
Set up online scheduling or payments. If you haven’t done this before now is the time.
Work on your skills and education. Watch online tutorials and classes from a variety of sources, listen to podcasts, etc
Consider selling gift cards or accept prepayment for future appointments to prioritize scheduling.
Ask your clients to refer their friends and family to book future appointments.
Ask your clients to Like, Comment and Share your posts.
Your clients will not be surprised to hear from you! After all, they have come to know you as a friend and care about you and your business success. They may be wondering what’s up with you and your salon. They will appreciate that you’re staying connected and that you’ve reached out.
We are in this together! Stay strong!
